Parking Parking rules are quite strict – MOST IMPORTANTLY – do not park facing the wrong way on the road… it’s illegal, you will get booked (and possibly towed). Be sure to follow the instructions on the signs. Here are the common ones: 1P, 2P, 3P etc = 1,2,3 hours respectively. Park Rear to Kerb (I’m serious) = you must reverse in to the space~!!

Is a car really necessary E-mail
Is it necessary to have a car in Australia? The short answer is yes, most definitely. Although local public transport system is very good (see our guide to local public transport), Australia is vast and even local trips can be lengthy. You will find your options limited without your own transport and considering the 2nd hand cars are pretty cheap, your best option is to buy a car and use our community section to sell the car to incoming doctors when you leave section.
